One day in the big winter of 2002-2003:
Last Friday night, Joe Fritz calls me up and asks me to meet him at the Castle Tavern
on Greenwood Lake. So Saturday afternoon I ride on down there to see what is going
on. And I could hardly find a place to park there was so much going on:
- Ok, we
got our "track". Now where are all the District 34 boys?
- Well,
who do I run into in the parking lot but Carl Dawes (Mr. Diamond triple) and his dad
- And
down by the water I find Joe and his son "gassing up" for another round.
- Out on
the ice is already is #9 /// a tricked out CRF450 that will be racing at Lembo
Lake tomorrow
- Joe
fires up his aluminum framed "CR500" to join the racing (he's doing Lembo
tomorrow too)
- And
here's the lake action !!
- Little
Joe chasing a tricked out ice bike
- everybody
watched #9 when he hit the ice
- Here's
a good overview of the size of the track
- Joe
Fritz and his son did some laps together
- Joe
chasing #9... or is it... nevermind !
- Joe
getting it down low for the camera
- Two +40
class guys (Steve Kanya and Joe Fritz) (Steve;
congratulations on turning +40 expert this year)
- Some
other forms of lake transport
- Sun is
getting low now and time to head home
- Dinner
Time at the Emerald Point Marina
Well, that was Saturday, January 25th, 2003. Wonder how they made out at Lembo
Lake the next day? Joe, get on that computer and let us know!
Your truly;
"just another district 34 rider waiting for the spring thaw"
